A downloadable Magret & FaceDeBouc

Welcome in the point and click adventure game !

In Magret & FaceDebouc, all rooms are, of course, interactive.
You can certainly 'click' on any element to receive (voice) descriptions, pick up items, engage in conversations with characters, and at times, you'll need to solve puzzles to advance in your crime investigation.

As you may notice, the characters and story are inspired by cartoons from the 80's/early 90's.
This is actually one of the peculiarities of all the games I create.

Game Pitch

Inspector Magret, an upright and incorruptible green-collar duck, hasn't been an inspector for quite some time.
Due to unknown circumstances, which players will discover throughout the game, he now finds himself tasked with sorting and cataloging the archives of his police station, under the orders of the Chief of Police, Captain Hishiro.

One morning, as he returns to his office, he makes an unexpected discovery: a repulsive and vulgar billy goat is lying on his desk, pants down, sunbathing his perineum.
It's Inspector FaceDeBouc !

The two characters quickly get acquainted and are reinstated as inspectors when the dismembered body of Mr. Couane, a pig restaurateur, is found in the city.

The Captain compels these two inspectors to collaborate and investigate this crime, which is bound to be anything but restful for our dynamic duo.

A Solo Project Seeking Support

You may have had the chance to discover my previous games, but what you may not know is that I tackle each of these projects entirely on my own. I shoulder all the responsibilities, transitioning from developer to level designer, crafting characters, environments, sprites, and handling 2D animation.

I'm also actively involved in recording the majority of the French voiceovers. At times, I seek the generosity of individuals on the internet, like the streamer Capitaine Hishiro, who readily lends their voice for certain characters.

When it comes to the environments, I find a valuable ally in collaborating with illustrators, often volunteers, who share their creations on platforms like Freepiks. This approach allows me to carry out game development and design with a minimal budget.

However, the time I can dedicate to the game remains limited due to the lack of funding, which compels me to simultaneously work in the field of writing to meet my financial needs.

Securing funding close to the requested goal would enable me to fully devote myself to game development. This endeavor would significantly expedite the creative process, enabling me to work daily in a more serene environment.

*But are you both equally foolish?

More than just a detective game... the pilot of a multi-episode series!

This first installment, titled "The Case of Thick as Thieves," ("L'Affaire Copains comme Cochons" in French or "Der Fall dick wie Diebe" in German) is actually the pilot episode of the series.

It highlights the first encounter between the two game's protagonists, who will find themselves having to team up to investigate a crime, despite their radically different personalities.

The lifespan of each episode (depending on the player's proficiency in point-and-click) is estimated to be between 4 and 6 hours.
However, the actual duration will be defined during the finalization of Episode 1, which is currently in development.

An Investigation with Two Personalities

It's essential to understand that you can seamlessly switch between our two investigators at any moment. All it takes is a click on their portraits at the top of the screen.

This flexibility allows you to assign tasks to one character that the other couldn't handle. For instance, FaceDebouc is known for being impulsive, rough, and gruff, while Magret possesses a more distinguished, stylish, and meticulous nature.

This dynamic duo also plays a pivotal role in how suspects and witnesses are interrogated. You'll discover that they are never approached in the same way by the refined duck, Magret, as they are by the edgy FaceDeBouc.

I can't find the demo. It says demo below but I don't see a download button.

Sorry, the demo was removed on January 1st to leave a new version which will be released on February 4, 2024. The button on the page was an oversight.
